Monterey jack bread

1 | Loaf French bread; cut in half lengthwise | |
½ | cup | Butter |
Garlic salt to taste | ||
1 | can | (3-oz) chopped green chilies; drained |
¼ | pounds | Monterey Jack cheese; grated |
½ | cup | Mayonnaise |
Directions
Preheat oven to 400ø. Melt butter in a saucepan and add garbc salt and green chilies. Mix the cheese and mayonnaise together. Spread the butter mixture on the 2 lengths of bread, then spread with the cheese and mayonnaise mixture. Place on a cookie sheet and bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes. Slice into serving pieces. Yield: 8 to 10 servings.
