Peach-buttermilk frozen treat - bon appetit

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
3 cups Sliced, peeled ripe peaches (about 1/4 lb)
½ cup Sugar
2 cups Buttermilk
1 tablespoon Grated peeled fresh ginger

Directions

Toss peaches with sugar in large bowl. Let stand until peaches exude juice and sugar has dissolved, stirring occasionally, about 45 minutes.

Transfer peaches to processor or blender. Add buttermilk and ginger and puree, stopping to scrape down sides, about 3 minutes.

Transfer mixture to ice cream maker and process according to manufactur- er's instructions, or, without an ice cream maker, freeze following directions in Very Berry Ice Milk recipe.

Transfer to plastic container. Cover and freeze several hours or overnight to mellow flavors. If frozen solid, let soften slightly at room temperature.
