Pear crisp with amaretti

Ingredients

3 pounds Pears 1.5 kg
¼ cup Pear brandy or amaretto 50 mL
¼ cup White granulated sugar 50 mL
1 cup Crushed amaretti cookies 250 mL
1 cup All-purpose flour 250 mL
½ cup Brown sugar 125 mL
½ cup White granulated sugar 125 mL
cup Unsalted butter; cold 150 mL
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream

Directions

Peel pears. Cut in half. Remove cores with a melon baller. Slice pears.

Combine pears with liqueur and sugar.

Combine amaretti cookie crumbs with flour, brown sugar and white sugar. Cut in butter until it is in tiny bits.

Arrange pears and their juices in the bottom of a buttered 9"X13"/3L baking dish. Sprinkle crumb mixture on top.

Bake crisp in a preheated 375F/190C oven for 50 to 60 minutes or until pears are really tender.

Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
