Quickest-ever apple cake

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 Or 2 tart apples, peeled, cored, thickly sliced, and sprinkled with lemon juice
¾ cup Plus 2 Tb. sugar
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
12 teaspoons Butter, melted (1 1/2 sticks)
1 cup Flour, sifted
1 Egg, slightly beaten

Directions

Arrange apples in buttered 9" pie plate. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon.

Pour melted butter in medium bowl. Add ¾ cup sugar, flour, and egg.

Stir until smooth. Spread batter evenly over apples. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes, until pale golden brown.
