Raisin spice cake

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
Add 1/2 box of rasins to 2
Cups boiling water and cook
For 15 minutes. Then add 1
Cup cold water and set aside
½ cup Shortening
4 cups Flour
1 tablespoon Baking soda
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Salt
2 cups Sugar
Stir until shortening melts,
Then add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Add raisins and water.
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Nutmeg
½ teaspoon Allspice

Directions

SIFT TOGETHER

Stir altogether; mixture will be thick. Bake approximately 40 minutes in two 9 inch pans or in three loaf pans at 350 degrees until toothpick comes out clean. May ice if desired. Randy Rigg Submitted By RANDY RIGG On 05-05-95
