Raisin spice cake

Add 1/2 box of rasins to 2 | ||
Cups boiling water and cook | ||
For 15 minutes. Then add 1 | ||
Cup cold water and set aside | ||
½ | cup | Shortening |
4 | cups | Flour |
1 | tablespoon | Baking soda |
1 | teaspoon | Baking powder |
1 | teaspoon | Salt |
2 | cups | Sugar |
Stir until shortening melts, | ||
Then add 1 teaspoon vanilla. | ||
Add raisins and water. | ||
1 | teaspoon | Cinnamon |
1 | teaspoon | Nutmeg |
½ | teaspoon | Allspice |
Directions
SIFT TOGETHER
Stir altogether; mixture will be thick. Bake approximately 40 minutes in two 9 inch pans or in three loaf pans at 350 degrees until toothpick comes out clean. May ice if desired. Randy Rigg Submitted By RANDY RIGG On 05-05-95
