Roasted figs in honey butter and orange

8 | TO 12 fresh figs | |
50 | grams | Unsalted butter |
30 | millilitres | Honey |
Juice of 1 orange and finely grated rind | ||
Orange cream: | ||
150 | millilitres | Double cream |
Juice of 1/2 orange |
Directions
Peel the figs and cut each one vertically into quarters. Melt the butter and honey in an oven-proof dish then stir in the orange juice. Place the figs in a single layer in the dish and sprinkle over the orange rind. Cook in a preheated oven at 190 C or 375 F for 15 minutes, basting occasionally.
To make orange cream, lightly whip the cream with the orange juice.
Transfer the figs to warmed serving plates and spoon over some of the juices. Serve warm, with the orange cream.
