Take a tour of Greece this Easter and prepare a feast that your family and guests soon won't forget. We're going Greek at Recipe-a-Day and we hope you enjoy this savory tour of the Mediterranean.
We're starting with a traditionally Greek recipe for, well, a starter. The best appetizers are usually simple to prepare and you're bound for rave reviews if you choose to serve this tasteful fried-cheese appetizer. You may have to shop a specialty market to find the Greek cheese, but it's well worth the trip!
Cut cheese into bite-size cubes. In a heavy skillet, fry cheese in hot butter over medium-high heat. Work quickly and fry for only a few seconds on each side until golden. Arrange on a platter and sprinkle with lemon juice. Serve warm. Optional presentations include lemon slices or parsley as a garnish.
