San francisco pork chops

1 | tablespoon | Bacon drippings |
½ | Peeled garlic clove | |
1 | tablespoon | Sugar |
2 | tablespoons | Cornstarch |
½ | teaspoon | Rosemary |
1¼ | cup | Hot water |
3 | tablespoons | Lemon juice |
6 | Thin slices of lemon |
Directions
Season chops with salt and pepper. Brown in hot oil with garlic. When chops are brown on both sides, remove garlic and move chops to one side. Add sugar, cornstarch, and rosemary and reduce heat. Stir to mix with oil then add water slowly, stirring to mix. Cook and sti until thick and clear. Stir in lemon juice. Place a lemon slice on each chop, cover and simmer on low heat about 40 minutes. Uncover.
