Savory beef short ribs

3 pounds Beef short ribs
2 Med. onions, sliced
1 tablespoon Packed brown sugar
1 pack Frozen lima beans
cup Water
2 tablespoons Vinegar & lemon juice
2 teaspoons Salt
¼ teaspoon Ground ginger
4 Med. carrots, cut in >>>>>
3 x 1/2\" strips
2 Bay leaves

Directions

Trim excess fat from ribs. Brown in skillet and drain off excess grease. Add water, onions, vinegar, salt, pepper and bay leaf. Heat to boiling, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour. Add frozen beans, carrots, brown sugar and ginger. Heat to boiling, reduce heat and simmer until vegetables are tender, abt. 45 minutes. Remove vegetables, make gravy. Gravy: 1½ c. beef broth; 3 tbs. flour; ⅓ c. water.

Mix ingredients and cook until smooth and thick.
