1 can (large) chocolate syrup
2 cups Sugar
2 Sticks butter; softened
5 mediums Eggs (or 4 large)
cup Flour
¼ teaspoon Soda
1 cup Buttermilk
1 cup Chopped nuts
2 teaspoons Vanilla
3 tablespoons Strong coffee

This book is guaranteed to satisfy (if not cure) any chocoholic.

Sheer Perfidy [ per-fi-dy: n., deliberate breach of faith, treachery ] Melt candy in double boiler. In separate bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. Sift flour and soda together. Add, alternating with buttermilk, syrup and candy. Beat well. Add nuts, vanilla and coffee. Bake in greased tube pan 1½ hours at 350.
