Smoked sausage chowder

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 pounds Fully-cooked smoked sausage, cut into 3/4-inch slices
4 slices Bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 mediums Onions, thinly sliced
4 mediums Potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
cup Water
½ teaspoon Salt
dash Fresh ground pepper
2 cups Milk

Directions

Cook bacon in large saucepan until crisp; remove to absorbent paper.

Add onions and cook until tender, stirring occasionally. Pour off drippings. Add potatoes, water, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover tightly and simmer 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Add milk, sausage and bacon, stirring to combine, and heat slowly 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 4 servings.
