Smokies with caraway kraut

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
3 cups Onion; chopped
1 Garlic clove; minced
2 tablespoons Shortening; melted
16 ounces Sauerkraut
1 tablespoon Paprika
2 teaspoons Sugar
1 teaspoon Caraway seeds
1 teaspoon Salt
teaspoon Pepper
1 pounds Sausage, smoked links; cut diagonally into thirds

Directions

Saute onions and garlic in shortening. Add remaining ingredients except sausage; cover and simmer over low heat 20 minutes. Add sausage; cover and simmer 10 minutes.
