| 1 | cup | Washed rice |
| Salt and pepper to taste | ||

Directions
Recipe from Charleston Receipts Fry bacon with okra cut in rings When okra is tender, add rice, water, salt and pepper. Put in rice steamer and cook until dry about 1½ hours.
Serves 4-6
Top of Stove: increase water to 1 ¾ cups, cook 30-45 minutes.
