Spiced cranberry and apple sauce

300 | millilitres | Apple juice; ( 1/2 pint) |
250 | grams | Granulated sugar; (8oz) |
500 | grams | Fresh cranberries; (1lb) |
1 | teaspoon | Mixed spice |
Directions
Place the apple juice, sugar, cranberries and spice in a saucepan. Stir over a moderate heat until the sugar has dissolved.
Bring to the boil then simmer gently, uncovered for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally until the fruit is soft and pulpy.
Carefully pour into clean, dry, warmed jars and cover as for jam.
Alternatively, pour into a suitable container and allow to cool before freezing.
