Spiced cranberry and apple sauce

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
300 millilitres Apple juice; ( 1/2 pint)
250 grams Granulated sugar; (8oz)
500 grams Fresh cranberries; (1lb)
1 teaspoon Mixed spice

Directions

Place the apple juice, sugar, cranberries and spice in a saucepan. Stir over a moderate heat until the sugar has dissolved.

Bring to the boil then simmer gently, uncovered for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally until the fruit is soft and pulpy.

Carefully pour into clean, dry, warmed jars and cover as for jam.

Alternatively, pour into a suitable container and allow to cool before freezing.
