Spinach and onion dip

1 | large | Onion(s), chopped |
2 | larges | Garlic clove(s), minced |
10 | ounces | Pkg frozen spinach, thawed |
¾ | Carton fat-free sour cream (about 6 oz) | |
¼ | teaspoon | Ground white pepper |
¼ | teaspoon | Ground red chile pepper powder |
¼ | teaspoon | Ground cumin |
¼ | teaspoon | Seasoned salt |
Directions
Heat oil in heavy skillet over medium heat. Add onions and garlic and saut until golden brown, about 10 minutes. Add spinach and saut for about 2 minutes more. Let cool. Pure in blender or food processor along with the sour cream and all the spices. Adjust seasoning; add more chile pepper powder if you like it very hot. Serve with crackers or raw vegetables.
Makes about 2 cups.
