Stir fried beef with anise hyssop

1 | pounds | Steak; cut across the grain into strips 3 inches long and 1/2 inch wide |
½ | cup | Chopped anise hyssop flowers and leaves |
⅓ | cup | Soy sauce |
1 | tablespoon | Brown sugar |
2 | tablespoons | Sherry |
2 | tablespoons | Vegetable oil |
¼ | cup | Water |
2 | teaspoons | Cornstarch dissolved in: |
2 | teaspoons | Water |
Directions
From: arielle@... (Stephanie da Silva) Date: Sat, 22 Apr 1995 11:28:04 GMT Combine flank steak with chopped anise hyssop, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sherry. Marinate at least 2 hours.
Remove meat from marinade, reserving liquid. Heat wok, add oil and stir fry meat for 3 minutes. Add water and marinade and heat to boiling. Add cornstarch mixture and cook until thickened.
Serve over rice.
