Tomato-&-pear chowchow

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
5 cups Apple cider vinegar
5 cups Brown sugar
1 teaspoon Cayenne
2 teaspoons Ginger
1 tablespoon White mustard seed
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Turmeric
1 teaspoon Salt
12 Tart pears (peeled & finely
Chopped)
3 larges Yellow onions (as above)
12 Green tomatoes (as above)

Directions

Place first 8 ingredients in large kettle & bring to boil. Cook for 5 minutes & add remaining ingredients. Reduce heat & simmer over low heat for 30 minutes. Pack chowchow into sterile jars. Seal & process in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes.
