Beans and chops bake

Ingredients

4 | Pork chops; 1 lb. | |
2 | tablespoons | Onion; finely chopped |
1 | tablespoon | Shortening |
16 | ounces | Pork and beans with tom. sc. |
⅓ | cup | Applesauce |
¼ | teaspoon | Allspice, ground |
2 | tablespoons | Almonds, slivered; toasted |
Directions
Brown chops and cook onion in shortening until tender in heavy skillet. Cover and cook over low heat for 30 minutes. Add beans, applesauce, and allspice; cook, covered, 15 minutes or until the chops are tender. Stir occasionally. Garnish with almonds.
