Black beans and rice 2

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 pack Black beans; sorted and washed
2 cups Brown rice
1 large Onion; peeled (but do not chop)
2 Bay leaves
4 Cloves garlic; (4 to 5)

Directions

Cover beans with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium low.

Add onion, whole. Add spices. Cook until beans are almost tender. Add rice, reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes. Turn heat off and allow to sit, covered, for 30 minutes or more. Serve with soy sauce.
