Broiled sausage and mozzarella mini-submarine sandwich

Ingredients

12 Inch grinder roll
¾ pounds Hot or sweet Italian style sausage
4 ounces Mozzarella sausage, shredded

Directions

Parboil the sausage over medium heat for about 20 minutes with enough water to barely cover the bottom of the pan. Increase the heat and brown lightly, about 5 minutes. Cut the sausage lengthwise almost all the way through and spread it flat. Cut roll in the same manner and place sausage on roll. Sprinkle the cheese over the sausage and broil just until cheese is melted. close the sandwich and cut into serving pieces while still warm.
