Chili dog sauce

Ingredients

½ pounds Pork or veal -- ground
Twice
½ cup Minced onion
½ Garlic clove
Or more to taste
2 tablespoons Olive oil
1 cup Tomato puree
½ cup Water
3 tablespoons Tomato paste
½ teaspoon Ground cuminseed
½ Bay leaf
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon Chili powder -- or more to
Taste

Directions

Cook meat, onion and garlic in olive oil until meat loses color. Add remaining ingredients, and stir to sauce consis- tency. Simmer, stirring occasionally for about 30 minutes. When finished, the sauce should have the consistency of thick soup. If necessary, thin with additional tomato puree. Makes about 2 cups. Contributed by Helen Jolly. Formatted by Olivia Liebermann.
