Directions
Notes: Good with tortilla chips! In a pint canning jar, layer 3 different kinds of beans--kidney, pinto, white, any kind you like. Decorate any way you like.
Then attach a tag or glue a label on with the following instructions: Cowboy Three Bean Chili
Ingredients: Prepared bean mixture, soaked over night. 1 clove garlic; crushed, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, 1 large can chopped tomatoes, 2 teaspoons dried oregano, 1 to 3 teaspoons chili powder, 1 tablespoon vinegar, 1 cube vegetable stock, salt to taste. Cook beans, covered with water, until tender. Using a heavy pan, lightly fry the garlic in the oil over a low heat. Add the tomatoes, cooked beans, oregano, chili powder, vinegar & stock cube; bring to a boil. Continue to season to taste. Reduce the heat, cover & simmer gently for about an hour, stirring occasionally.
Add water as necessary.
