Creamy cranberry (or apple) almond crunch bread

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 pack Pillsbury Apple Cinnamon or Cranberry Quick Bread Mix
½ cup Chopped, peeled apple
¾ cup Water
3 tablespoons Oil
1 Egg
1 teaspoon Almond extract
2 packs (3-oz.) cream cheese
2 tablespoons Sugar
1 Egg
½ cup Chopped, peeled apple
¼ cup Sliced almonds
Apple jelly

Directions

Heat oven to 350. Grease and flour loaf pan. Blend all ingredients except apple. Beat at medium speed until smooth. Stir in apple. Set aside. In large bowl, combine all bread ingredients. Stir by hand until mix is moistened. Pour ½ batter into prepared pan. Carefully spoon cream cheese mixture over batter. Spoon remaining batter on top of filling.

Sprinkle with almonds. Bake for 65-85 minutes or until done. Cool completely. Brush with melted apply jelly. Store in refrig.
