Date filled drop cookies

¼ | teaspoon | Cinnamon |
2 | Eggs, beaten | |
1 | cup | Chopped dates |
3 | tablespoons | Sugar |
1 | teaspoon | Vanilla |
¼ | cup | Water or buttermilk |
Walnut halves | ||
3 | tablespoons | Water |
¼ | cup | Chopped nuts |
Directions
DATE FILLING
In small saucepan combine dates, sugar and water. Cook over medium heat about 5 to 10 minutes, stirring until thick. Remove from heat.
Cool slightly. Stir in chopped nuts. Set aside to cool. Preheat oven to 375. Lightly grease baking sheets. In a large bowl, combine cookie mix, cinnamon, eggs, vanilla and water or buttermilk. Blend well. Drop by tsp onto prepared baking sheets. Spoon ½ tsp date filling on top of each cookie, depressing dough slightly. Cover each with another tsp of dough. Top with walnut half.
