Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredient | |

1 | cup | Shortening |
2 | cups | Brown sugar |
2 | eaches | Egg |
To above mix | ||
½ | cup | Water |
1 | teaspoon | Vanilla |
In another bowl mix; | ||
3½ | cup | Flour |
1 | teaspoon | Salt |
1 | teaspoon | Baking soda |
⅛ | teaspoon | Cinnamon |
Mix well, then combine bowls | ||
Stir constantly | ||
2 | cups | Dates -- chopped |
¾ | cup | Sugar |
¾ | cup | Water |
When thick add | ||
1 | cup | Pecans -- chopped |
Directions
FILLING; COOK UNTIL THICK
drop 1 teaspoon dough, add ½ teaspoon filling and ½ teaspoon dough on top. Bake at 375
