Double-boiler bread pudding

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 cup Brown sugar, packed
3 slices White bread, buttered cut into 3/4-in. cubes
2 Eggs
2 cups Milk
½ teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Vanilla

Directions

Place brown sugar in top of double boiler. Place bread cubes on top of sugar. Beat eggs with milk, salt and vanilla and pour over bread.

Place over simmering water, cover and cook 1½ hours. Do not stir.

Brown sugar forms sauce in bottom of pan. Turn pudding into serving dish.
