Edie's steak soup (m_c-tx)

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 pounds Ground chuck
1 Stick oleo or margarine
½ cup Flour
2 Carrots, diced
1 medium To large onion, diced
2 Celery stalks, diced
2 mediums Potatoes, diced
1 pack Frozen mixed vegetables
1 can Tomatoes (15-20 oz.)
4 Beef bouillon cubes
Salt, pepper and garlic salt or garlic to taste

Directions

In dutch oven size pan melt margarine. Add flour and stir until smooth. Add 2 cups water, stir until smooth. Add 3 cups more water, carrots, celery,potatoes, mixed vegetables, tomatoes, bouillon cubes, salt, pepper and garlic. In separate pan brown meat and cook onion. Drain. Add to dutch oven. Simmer 1½ hours. Freezes well.
