Fresh butter beans and okra

2 | pounds | Fresh butter beans; (white or speckled) |
1 | pounds | Pickled pork meat |
Salt to taste | ||
1 | medium | Chopped onion |
½ | pounds | Small okra |
½ | teaspoon | Sugar |
Directions
Boil pickled pork meat about ½ hour. Add shelled butter beans, onions, salt and sugar in about 2 cups of water until beans are soft when mashed with finger. About 10 minutes before done add okra to beans and sprinkle with black pepper.
