Honey-praline ice cream sauce
6 Servings
Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredient | |
---|---|---|
¾ | cup | Pecan halves |
2 | tablespoons | Butter or margarine |
½ | cup | Honey |
1 | teaspoon | All-purpose flour |
1 | dash | Salt |
⅓ | cup | Heavy cream |
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. 2. Spread pecans in shallow pan; bake 15 minutes.
3. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Blend in honey, flour and salt. Reduce heat to low and simmer 5 minutes, stirring continuously.
Remove from heat and let cool.
4. Blend in cream, mixing until smooth; stir in pecans. Serve over ice cream or as a topping for baked apples, poaches pears or peaches.
Note: I used clover honey to lighten the taste of this sauce just a tad.
