Ismail's green beans

Ingredients

1 | pounds | Fresh green beans |
2 | tablespoons | Vegetable oil |
1 | small | Dried red chile pepper |
½ | teaspoon | Ajwain; (lovage) seeds |
½ | teaspoon | Ground cumin |
½ | teaspoon | Black mustard seeds |
1 | teaspoon | Salt |
½ | teaspoon | Cayenne pepper |
¼ | teaspoon | Turmeric |
Directions
Wash beans, trim off the ends, and cut them into half-inch pieces. Set aside. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil, and add the chile pepper; saute for 2 minutes. Add the ajwain, cumin, and mustard seeds; continue to saute for another minute. Add the beans, salt, cayenne pepper, and the turmeric. Mix the beans well with the spices, and saute the green-bean mixture for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve immediately. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
