Italian anise pillows

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
4 cups Flour
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Butter; softened
3 Eggs
5 teaspoons Baking Powder
½ teaspoon Salt
¾ teaspoon Anise Flavor Extract

Directions

About 1½ hours before serving or up to 2 weeks ahead: Into large bowl, measure all ingredients. With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients til well blended.

Preheat oven to 400. Shape 1 heaping teaspoonful of dough into 1 ½" oval.

Repeat with remaining dough, placing cookies 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10 min. or til cookies are lightly browned. Remove cookies to wire racks; cool; store in tightly covered containers.
