Low-country barbecue sauce

Ingredients

2 | cups | Chopped tomatoes |
1 | medium | Onion; finely chopped |
¼ | cup | Butter or margarine; melted |
¼ | cup | White vinegar |
1 | tablespoon | Sugar |
1 | tablespoon | Paprika |
1 | tablespoon | Pepper |
2 | teaspoons | Salt |
1½ | teaspoon | Worcestershire sauce |
¼ | teaspoon | Hot sauce |
1 | Clove garlic | |
½ | Red pepper pod |
Directions
Process tomatoes through a food mill or pulse several times in a food processor. Saute' onion in butter in a medium saucepan until tender. Stir in tomatoes, vinegar, and remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer sauce, uncovered, 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove and discard garlic and red pepper pod. Serve sauce over sliced pork.
