Marion's tea cakes
1 Servings
Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredient | |
---|---|---|
2 | Hen's Eggs (I used Medium) | |
2 | tablespoons | White Sugar |
3 | cups | Flour (She means All-Purpose) |
1 | cup | Sweet Milk (I recommend Whole, or even Half-and-Half) |
1 | teaspoon | Soda |
2 | teaspoons | Cream of Tartar |
2 | tablespoons | Melted Butter (She called for \"A lump the size of a small hen's egg\") |
Directions
Cream the eggs, and sugar. Slowly add the remaining ingredients in the order listed. She says bake them in a "Quickish" oven (That's about 400 degrees) for ½ an hour, until they are springy. Use a square or round baking tin, and serve them hot, with butter, topped with cinnamon-sugar.
