Mellow stew

4 1/2 cups

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
pounds Beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes
2 teaspoons Cooking oil
2 cups Water
½ cup Ketchup
3 tablespoons White vinegar
3 tablespoons Brown sugar, packed
2 cups Sliced carrot
1 cup Chopped onion
1 teaspoon Salt
¼ teaspoon Pepper

Directions

Brown beef in cooking oil in large pot or Dutch oven.

Add water, ketchup, vinegar and brown sugar. Stir. Cover. Boil slowly for 1¼ hours.

Add carrot, onion, salt and pepper. Stir. Cover. Boil gently for 30 to 40 minutes until beef and vegetables are tender. Makes 4 ½ cups Typed in MMFormat by cjhartlin@... Source: Company's Coming Millennium Edition
