Mom's pork chops
1 Servings
Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredient | |
---|---|---|
4 | Boneless pork chops | |
1 | tablespoon | Butter |
3 | cups | Milk |
1 | cup | Cheese, grated |
4 | tablespoons | Cornstarch |
4 | cups | Potatoes, sliced as for scalloped potatoes (up to 5) |
Directions
Preboil the potatoes. Brown the pork chops. While they are browning, make the sauce (butter, milk, cheese, cornstarch) in a saucepan. Stir until hot and bubbly and smooth. I use a whip. Put the sliced cooked potatoes into a greased casserole dish (I use Pam). Pour sauce over the top, then lay pork chops on top of that. Season to your taste. I like Lawry's Seasoned Salt.
Bake at 350 deg F. I cover with tin foil for about 20 minutes until everything is good and hot, then I take the cover off for about 10 minutes.
To be honest with you, I add more than one cup of cheese, hubby likes it really creamy and juicy. Posted to bakery-shoppe digest V1 Number 034 by "Lewis" <lewises@...> on Apr 16, 1997
