New england nutmeg sauce

1 tablespoon Flour
1 cup Water; boiling
1 tablespoon Butter
1 teaspoon Nutmeg

Directions

Recipe by: The American Heritage Cookbook - ISBN 0-8281-04-03-4 Mix together 1 cup sugar and 1 Tbs flour. Stir in 1 cup boiling water and cook, stirring constantly, until sauce bubbles and thickens slightly.

Add 1 Tbs butter and simmer gently for 5 mins. Remove from heat and stir in 1 tsp nutmeg. Serve hot.
