Quantity | Ingredient | |
---|---|---|
20 | Plump dried figs | |
20 | Walnut halves | |
125 | grams | Ground walnuts or hazelnuts; ( 1/2 cup) |
60 | millilitres | Honey; (3 tablespoons) |
½ | cup | Clotted cream or thick yoghurt; (optional) |
Directions
Gently pummel the figs to soften and reshape them after they come out of their package. Cut off the stalks then slice the figs open from the stalk end, about halfway through.
Press a walnut half into the fig and sprinkle some of the ground nuts over the walnut. Press the top of the fig down onto the nut, so that the nut is enclosed as much as possible.
Place the figs in a small baking dish then drizzle with honey and a little water and bake at 200c. for about 8-10 minutes until hot and bubbling.
Serve warm with a little extra honey drizzled over and some clotted cream or yoghurt if desired.
