Patty ann's rum dainties

Ingredients

1 | cup | 4x sugar |
3 | tablespoons | White Karo syrup |
2⅓ | tablespoon | Cocoa |
3 | cups | Vanilla wafers--crushed |
1 | cup | Finely chopped nuts |
3 | ounces | Rum (more or less to taste) |
Directions
To make crumbs, put wafers in plastic bag and roll with rolling pin. Pour into bowl and mix above ingredients, adding rum last. Shape into balls about 1" in diameter. Roll in 4x sugar and chill. This mixture is sticky, so keep fingers and palms of hands dusted with 4x sugar while shaping cookies. Store in tin box between layers of wax paper. Submitted By BILL SPALDING On 12-18-94
