¼ cup Butter
cup Golden syrup
1 each Egg
¼ teaspoon Salt
cup Butter softened
½ teaspoon Vanilla extract
2 tablespoons Flour
cup Pecan halves

Preheat oven to 350. Grease an 8 inch square pan. Base: Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cream butter and blend in flour to make soft dough. Spread dough evenly over the base of greased cake pan. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 Topping: In a small sauce pan over low heat melt butter. Remove from heat and stir in syrup, brown sugar, beaten egg, vanilla, and flour. Spread pecans evenly over the pre cooked base. Pour topping mixture over the pecans.
