Pennsylvania dutch shoofly pie

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
1 Pie crust; 9\", unbaked
cup Flour; all-purpose
2 tablespoons Butter
½ cup Brown sugar; packed
½ cup Molasses
½ cup Boiling water
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
pinch Salt
1 teaspoon Baking soda
¼ teaspoon Ground ginger

Directions

CRUMBS

FILLING

** To Make the Crumbs: Combine all the crumb ingredients together in a large bowl until the mixture resembles large crumbs. Set aside.

** To Make the Filling: Preheat the oven to 350øF.

Combine the molasses and water together in a bowl. Stir in the baking soda and ginger.

Mix in ⅔ of the crumb mixture with the filling mixture and pour into the pie shell. Sprinkle the remaining crumbs on top.

Bake until golden brown, about 30 minutes.
