Polish sauerkraut soup

2 | pounds | Smoked pork shanks |
1 | quart | Water |
1 | Onion -- well browned | |
1 | quart | Sauerkraut -- without the |
Juice | ||
2 | teaspoons | Salt |
¼ | cup | Cream |
1 | Egg | |
1 | tablespoon | Flour |
¾ | cup | Skim milk |
Directions
Cook meat in water until well done. Add onion, sauerkraut and salt. Beat egg. Add flour, milk and cream. Add to soup and bring to boiling point.
