Polish sauerkraut soup

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 pounds Smoked pork shanks
1 quart Water
1 Onion -- well browned
1 quart Sauerkraut -- without the
Juice
2 teaspoons Salt
¼ cup Cream
1 Egg
1 tablespoon Flour
¾ cup Skim milk

Directions

Cook meat in water until well done. Add onion, sauerkraut and salt. Beat egg. Add flour, milk and cream. Add to soup and bring to boiling point.
