Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredient | |
---|---|---|
½ | cup | Butter /marg |
⅔ | cup | Corn syrup |
1 | cup | Lightly packed brown sugar |
¼ | cup | Cocoa (depends how \"chocolatey\" you like it) (up to 1/3) |
2 | teaspoons | Vanilla |
6 | cups | Puffed wheat cereal |
Directions
In large saucepan, melt butter/marg. over med. heat. Add corn syrup, sugar and cocoa. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and blend in vanilla. Add puffed wheat cereal (if your saucepan is large enough - or pour syrup over top of cereal in large bowl) Combine well. Spoon mixture into well-greased 9 x 13 pan and press down firmly with spatula. Chill until firm. Cut into squares.
This chocolate "glue" also works well with rice krispies.
