Sour cream prune cake

Ingredients

cup Brown sugar
1 cup Thick sour cream
¼ cup Cold water
½ teaspoon Baking soda
½ teaspoon Salt
cup Cake flour
2 Eggs, well beaten
1 cup Uncooked pitted prunes
2 teaspoons Baking powder
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Cloves
1 teaspoon Nutmeg

Directions

Combine eggs, sugar, cream, and water. Mix well. Sift flour, measure 1¼ cups, and sift with baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices. Add to first mixture. Beat thoroughly. Add prunes which have been cut in small pieces and dredged in ¼ cup of the sifted flour. Pour into well-oiled loaf pan. Bake in moderate oven (375 F) about 45 minutes.
