Spicy black beans with onion and bacon - bon appetit

Ingredients

1 | large | Onion, chopped |
2 | larges | Garlic cloves, chopped |
2 | 15 to 16-oz cans black beans, rinsed, drained | |
1 | can | (16-oz) diced peeled tomatoes |
1 | can | (4-oz) diced green chilies |
2½ | tablespoon | Chili powder |
2 | teaspoons | Dried oregano |
¼ | teaspoon | Cayenne pepper |
Directions
Cook bacon in heavy large saucepan over medium heat until light brown, about 10 minutes. Add onion and garlic and saute until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Add all remaining ingredients. Simmer until chili is thick, stirring frequently, about 12 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
