¼ | cup | Grated onion |
2 | tablespoons | Commercial steak sauce |
1 | tablespoon | Minced fresh parsley |
1 | teaspoon | Salt |
¼ | teaspoon | Pepper |
1 | teaspoon | Grated lemon rind |
½ | pounds | Fresh mushrooms; sliced |
3 | tablespoons | Butter or margarine; melted |
Romaine lettuce | ||
6 | eaches | Kaiser rolls or hamburger buns; sliced in half |
1 | large | Tomato; cut in 6 slices |
Mushroom sauce | ||
2 | tablespoons | Chopped chives |
2 | teaspoons | Dijon mustard |
Directions
MUSHROOM SAUCE
Combine beef, onion, steak sauce, parsley, salt, pepper, and lemon rind; mix well. Shape into 6 patties abot ¾-inch thick. Grill patties over medium-hot coals 8 to 10 minutes on each side or to desired degree of doneness, turning once. Remove patties from grill.
Place lettuce on bottom half of each roll; top with patty, tomato slice, Mushroom Sauce, and chives. Cover with top, and serve immediately.
Mushroom Sauce: Saute mushrooms in butter in a skillet until tender and liquid is evaporated. Add Dijon mustard, stirring well. Yield: ¾ cup.
