Tahini or peanut butter cake (tahinopitta)

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
3 cups Flour
3 teaspoons Baking powder
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Bicarbonate of soda
1 cup Sugar
½ cup Walnuts
½ cup Sultanas
½ cup Candied orange peel
1 cup Orange juice
½ cup Water
1 cup Tahini or peanut butter
Confectioners' sugar

Directions

Sift flour; measure; add next 3 ingredients and sift again. Mix in sugar and fruits.

Add orange juice and water slowly to tahini, blending thoroughly.

Pour into flour mixture and stir well. Turn into an oiled baking pan 13 x 9 inches lined with waxed paper. Baking in a moderate oven for about 45 minutes. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
