1 | cup | Sliced fresh strawberries |
1 | cup | Fresh blueberries |
1 | cup | Fresh raspberries |
½ | cup | Sugar |
1 | cup | Lowfat milk or nonfat plain yogurt |
Directions
Toss first 4 ingredients in large bowl. Let stand until berries exude juice and all sugar has dissolved, stirring occasionally, about 45 minutes.
Transfer berries to processor or blender. Add milk and puree, stopping to scrape down sides, about 3 minutes. Press mixture through fine strainer into bowl to eliminate seeds.
Transfer mixture to ice cream maker and process according to manufactur- er's instructions. (Or, to freeze without an ice cream maker: Pour mixture into baking pan. Freeze uncovered until edges are solid but center is still slushy, about 2 hours. Transfer to processor and blend until smooth. Return to pan and freeze uncovered until edges are solid but center is still slushy. Transfer to processor and blend until smooth.) Transfer ice milk to plastic container. Cover and freeze several hours or overnight to mellow flavors. If frozen solid, let soften slightly at room temperature before serving.
