Western kentucky-style sauce
1 Servings
Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredient | |
---|---|---|
½ | cup | Brown sugar |
½ | cup | Heinz ketchup |
1 | teaspoon | Garlic powder |
1 | teaspoon | Onion powder |
3 | dashes | Cracked black pepper (up to 4) |
2 | teaspoons | Soy sauce |
2 | tablespoons | Quaker State 10W-30 motor oil |
3 | tablespoons | Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce |
1 | pinch | Oregano |
1 | tablespoon | Lemon juice |
½ | teaspoon | Black pepper |
2 | dashes | Paprika (up to 3) |
2 | dashes | Chili powder (up to 3) |
Directions
All ingredients above are accurate except for Quaker State motor oil.
Castrol 20W-50 is preferred (gives the sauce more "body"). Just kidding. No oil. Better when cooked for a while.
Also, I realize that the above sauce violates the norms of purists on the list who abhor the use of ketchup in a sauce. My apologies to y'all. Try it and you'll love it.
