250 | grams | Self Raising Flour (2 cups) |
½ | teaspoon | Salt |
250 | millilitres | Milk (1 cup) |
30 | grams | Soft butter or marg (1 oz) |
Directions
Sift flour and salt into a mixing bowl. Add milk and butter/ margarine and mix with a wooden spoon for 1-2 minutes or with an electric mixer for ½ - 1 minute.
Knead dough lightly into a round [flattened ball] and place in a greased and floured 18cm (7inch) sandwich cake tin. Bake in a hot oven at 220øC (425øF) for 25-30 minutes. Cool on a wire cooling tray.
Serve sliced, spread with butter and jam, if desired.
