Flecia umpluta (stuffed flank steak)

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
4 cups Toasted bread cubes
¼ cup Hot water
¾ cup Chopped green pepper
½ cup Chopped onion
¼ cup Melted butter or margarine
2 teaspoons Salt
¼ teaspoon Pepper
2 xes Eggs, slightly beaten
2 xes Flank steaks
1 x Salt and pepper
1 x Flour
1 x Fat
½ cup Water

Directions

Combine the first eight ingredients and toss lightly with a fork.

Place steaks together and sew edges with cord, leaving an opening.

Fill with stuffing, sew edges together. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Coat with flour. Brown on both sides in a small amount of fat. Add ½ cup of water, cover and bake 2 hours or until tender.

Recipe may be halved and just put stuffing over one steak and bake, or roll and tie. Submitted By MARK MIKLAS On 07-27-95
